This Spaniel Hunt Test is held under the Rules and Procedures of the American Kennel Club.

Eligible Breeds for Spaniel Hunting Tests: Airedale Terriers, American Water Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Clumber Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, Curly-Coated Retrievers, English Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels,Field Spaniels, Flat-Coated Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, Nederlandse Kooikerhondje, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, Poodles - Standard and Miniature, Sussex Spaniels, and Welsh Springer Spaniels.
All dogs must be six months of age or over on the day of the Hunting Test.

Welcome to the Central Maine Spaniel Club Annual Hunt Test. We hope you and your dogs will have a great time on well-prepared grounds. We have fields, woods, and water ready for an excellent hunt test.

BIRDS
Chukars or pigeons may be used in the Junior land and water series. Chukars will be used in the Senior and Master land series. Chukar or ducks will be used for the Senior and Master water series.
PRIZES
Qualifying dogs will receive official AKC rosette ribbons.
Title ribbons will be awarded to those receiving a title.

Requirements
• All handlers to report to the line with ADEQUATE drinking water for their dogs.
• One article of hunter orange clothing will be worn by all those in the field. A hat by itself is not sufficient.
• Severe training, correcting, or disciplining of any dog will not be allowed on the grounds.

All entrants should be on site before 8:00 a.m. as simultaneous testing of various stakes will occur.

When in the gallery, please cooperate with the marshal. The marshal’s duty is to ensure the safety of all and minimize distractions to handlers and dogs. Please keep your dog on a leash or in a crate when not on the course being tested. A copy of the AKC Hunting Tests regulations is available from the event secretary.

SCRATCHES

Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com.

 

After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

Entry fees will be refunded in full for a bitch withdrawn because of coming in season or for a dog withdrawn because of an injury or illness or for a dog that has died.

Lunch will be available on site.

The Freedom Volunteer Fire Department will cater the noon meal at the Central Maine Spaniel Club's hunt test August 13 and 14. This will be a fund raiser for the fire department and also give us a chance to demonstrate what we do in the local community.

Directions to the hunt test location
The hunt test will be held on the Wildwind Kennels training grounds, 1368 Webb Rd. Knox, Maine.

From southern Maine
Take exit 113 off I95 in Augusta. Follow rt. 3 through Augusta. Take rt. 3 out of Augusta toward Belfast.

Approximately 15 minutes out of Augusta look for Tobey’s Store on the left. Take a left on the Branch Mills Rosd. When you start up a hill beyond the mill, take a sharp left on the North Palermo Road until it merges with rt 137.

Follow rt. 137 through Freedom Village, through the intersection between 137 and rt. 220. Go straight on rt. 137 toward Belfast. You will drop down a hill. A sand shed is off to the left.

Cross the bridge. Immediately after the bridge is a fork to your left with two branches. The lower road is Bailey Rd. The upper road in Webb Rd. Go straight on Webb Road. The entrance to the event grounds will be in the left just past the Wildwind Kennels sign.

From northern Maine
From Bangor, take I 94 south to exit 174. Turn left onto rt 69. Turn right onto rt. 202. In Dixmont take a left onto rt. 7. Turn right onto Works Road. Turn left onto Valley Road. Turn right onto rt 139. Turn left onto Webb Road.

Look for the CMSC event sign on the right side of the road.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club in effect at the time of this event, and any additional rules and regulations appearing in the premium list of this event and entry form and any decision made in accord with them. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MUST FIRST BE FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, PUBLISHED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES.
