WELCOME STATEMENT

The Northeast Wisconsin Spaniel Club would like to cordially invite you to join us at our Fall Field Trial being held on September 26-27, 2020. The Trial will be held at Besadny Fish and Wildlife Area, Hill Rd., Kewaunee, WI. Maps will be provided after the running order is available.

This year, in addition to our ESS Open, Amateur and Puppy stakes, we will have a Cocker Open and Puppy stake. Our Judges for the Open and Amateur Stakes will be Paul Haering and Ryan Lamberg. Our puppy judges are TBD.

We will use HuntSecretary.com for submittal of all entries. Closing is September 15, 2020 at 23:59:59 EST (or 22:59:59 CST). Any entries received after that date will not be accepted by the website. If there are any questions you can contact Hunt Secretary at 1-936-852-2080. Entry fees for Open and Amateur Stakes will be $125 and for Puppy Stakes it will be $35. Hunt Secretary has a non-refundable fee of $4.50 per entry.

This has been a challenging time for the field trial community. The NWSC is making every effort to ensure our event can be held. This year’s trial will operate with some modifications, so we ask for your understanding and assistance in adhering to the protocols we have developed.

The use of ATV’s, UTV’s, or any other motorized vehicle is restricted from being used on the grounds. This is to protect the grass and avoid any confusion on the field. Handlers can request permission to use an ATV or UTV at the time of entry. Medical conditions such as a disability recognized by AKC will be qualified to use an ATV/UTV. Decisions will be made on case by case bases. The Field Trial Committee will review all request made and inform the entrant of their decision.

Remember, all participants and spectators must wear at least one piece of blaze orange clothing above the waist while in the field per the rules of the AKC governing all Field Trials.

COVID-19 Mitigation Plan for Special Events and Commercial Use on DNR-Managed Lands

The Northeast Wisconsin Spaniel Club has worked diligently to assure we conduct our trial in accordance with COVID-19 mitigation plans for special events used on Wisconsin DNR-managed lands. For the health and safety of all our participants, we ask that you read the following requirements and adhere to these requests to the best of your ability.

Per CDC guidelines July 20, 2020, participants will only be allowed on the grounds if:

? They have never had symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive by nasal swab or have not been in contact with someone infected with the virus within 14 days prior to the trial, or:
? They have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or tested positive by nasal swab, and at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset or test result, and at least 24 hours have passed since resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and other symptoms have improved.

All participants and observers are asked to self-evaluate every morning before coming to the trial. Please do not participate or show up to the trial if you have, or recently have had, a cough, fever or any other COVID-19 symptoms; or have been in contact with someone infected with the virus within 14 days prior to the trial.

Entry refunds will be considered for participants who become ill after closing or during the trial.

Restroom facilities will be available with hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes. Masks will be available to all attendees.

Attendees are asked to park 15 or more feet apart to encourage social distancing.

There will be no awards ceremony - placements and call backs will be broadcast via radio.

Announcements will be made Saturday and Sunday morning before the event start to reiterate key COVID-19 and other safety concerns.

We will be limiting the number of people in the field to as few as possible, this includes:

Field marshal, two handlers, four gunners, and two judges.

Drawings will take place at Huntsecretary.com 8:00 AM ET on 9/16/2020. The Running Order will be electronically randomized and adjusted slightly to accommodate handlers running multiple dogs.

I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
