WELCOME STATEMENT

Dear Field Trialers:
The Rocky Mountain Springer Spaniel Association cordially invites you to our annual 2020 fall field trial. This year we are holding our trial on Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2, (prior to the Northern Colorado Springer Spaniel Club trial to be held on Saturday and Sunday). The trial grounds are located north of WCR 14 and east of WCR 37 on the Miller property. The cover is a mixture of grass and weeds.
Our All Age judges are Tom Nabity and Randy Curtis. The Open Stake will start at 8am on Thursday October 1. The Amateur Stake will start at 8am on Friday October 2. The Puppy Stake will run no sooner than the conclusion of the second series of the Open. Our Puppy judges will be announced before the trial.
The Trial Headquarters is the Best Western Plus, located approximately 5 miles from the grounds at the intersection of I-76 and Hwy 52 in Hudson Co. The phone number is 303-536-4401. Please mention the Rocky Mountain Springer Spaniel Association when booking.
Hunt Secretary will handle the entries (huntsecretary.com) and entries will close on: September 21, 2020 at 11:59:59pm Eastern Time.
Please remember to be prepared for any kind of weather in Colorado. Some form of blaze orange is required in the field. Due to the dry weather, we ask that you not smoke anywhere on the grounds.
THE FOLLOWING COVID 19 PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE
The Rocky Mountain Springer Spaniel Association will be initiating the following protocols for the COVID-19 virus to be followed for October 1 and 2 field trial which include the
following:
1) Please maintain social distancing at all times.
2) Spectators for the gallery will be limited to family or a few friends of the dog on the line.
3) The gallery spectators will maintain social distances and stay single file and please wear a mask where appropriate.
4) The number of workers in the field will be limited to as few as possible (i.e. one marshal, 2 handlers, 4 gunners, 2 judges, with no shaggers being used). Handlers will be required to carry their own birds to the bird storage area.
5) Participants/handlers will stay in or near their vehicle or trailers until they are invited to compete.
6) Participants/handlers will stay single file with a safe social distance between each other.
7) No one will congregate within close physical proximity to each other anywhere on the trial grounds.
8) No awards ceremony - placements and call backs will be broadcast via radio
9) No lunch is provided. Attendees are required to arrange their own meals & requested to eat at your own trailer/vehicle.
10) Hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes will be provided. Please wear a mask when appropriate.

Please self evaluate every morning before coming to the trail and please do not participate or show up at the trial if you meet any of the following;
1. You have been quarantined in the last 3 weeks.
2. You have a cough of fever or any other COVID-19 symptoms now or within the last 3 weeks.

DRAWINGS/RUNNING ORDER

Drawings will take place at Huntsecretary.com 8:00 AM ET on 9/22/2020. The Running Order will be electronically randomized and adjusted slightly to accommodate handlers running multiple dogs.

 

SCRATCHES
Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com unless Club Scratch Policy below states otherwise.
 
After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

Unless the dog is in season or you have a veterinarian certificate, scratches after closing will not be refunded.

I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
