This Spaniel Hunt Test is held under the Rules and Procedures of the American Kennel Club.

Eligible Breeds for Spaniel Hunting Tests: Airedale Terriers, American Water Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Clumber Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, Curly-Coated Retrievers, English Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels,Field Spaniels, Flat-Coated Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers(Feb 1, 2019), Poodles - Standard and Miniature, Sussex Spaniels, and Welsh Springer Spaniels.
All dogs must be six months of age or over on the day of the Hunting Test.

Due to Covid 19 concerns, entries are limited to 25 dogs. Event will be run by the best practices as put forth by the AKC, and Washington State directives will be followed.

PLEASE NOTE: The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife requires a Vehicle Use Permit for Scatter Creek and other WDFW improved access facilities. Permits can be purchased anywhere that sells hunting/fishing licenses, or online at:

An item of Blaze Orange clothing must be worn by anyone going into the field. Vests will be available for anyone needing them.

Training of dogs is not allowed on the grounds on the day of a test. Please keep your dog on leash or confined when not on the course being tested.

Smoking is permitted in the parking lot only.

Drawings will take place at 8:00 AM ET on 8/26/2020. The Running Order will be electronically randomized and adjusted slightly to accommodate handlers running multiple dogs.


Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by unless Club Scratch Policy below states otherwise.
After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

After the closing date, dogs coming into heat will be refunded.
After the closing date, dogs with medical problems will be refunded, a vet certificate may be required.

Due to Covid 19 concerns, lunch will not be available for purchase. Gunners, Judges, and field volunteers will have a commercially prepared box lunch. Please sign up at the Secretary's table. Water will be available.
