OPEN TO AKC ELIGIBLE BREEDS OF SPANIELS/RETRIEVERS(Listed Below)
This Spaniel Hunt Test is held under the Rules and Procedures of the American Kennel Club.

Eligible Breeds for Spaniel Hunting Tests: Airedale Terriers, American Water Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Clumber Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, Curly-Coated Retrievers, English Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels,Field Spaniels, Flat-Coated Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers(Feb 1, 2019), Poodles - Standard and Miniature, Sussex Spaniels, and Welsh Springer Spaniels.
All dogs must be six months of age or over on the day of the Hunting Test.

***We will be implementing strict social distancing, including limiting the gallery and participants in the field. We ask that everyone attending be responsible for ensuring their own and others health and safety.

Close congregating of people will NOT be allowed and may be grounds for dismissal from the grounds.***

Welcome to the Northern Colorado Springer Spaniel Club Hunt Test.

These hunt tests are open to all AKC eligible breeds of Spaniels and Airedale Terriers, Chesapeake Bay, Curly-Coated, Flat-Coated, Golden, And Labrador Retrievers; And Poodles

We would like to extend a very special Thank You to the Peschels for the use of these grounds.

Entries close at 11:59 PM. EST, May 17, 2020, or when the 30-dog entry limit is reached.

After which time entries cannot be accepted, cancelled, altered or substituted except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules.

This Event is Licensed by the American Kennel Club. This test is held under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club.

ATTENTION HANDLERS
*We will be implementing strict social distancing, including limiting the gallery and participants in the field. We ask that everyone attending be responsible for ensuring their own and others health and safety.
*Close congregating of people will not be allowed and may be grounds for dismissal from the grounds.
*Please park only in designated areas.
*Please exercise your dogs in designated areas.
*Training, correcting or disciplining of dogs will not be permitted on the Hunt Test grounds.
*Please bring adequate water for your dogs and yourself. Be prepared to provide water for your dog while in the field.
*The Hunt Test grounds are very exposed to the elements and there is no shade.
*Please note that the weather in Colorado in May is very unpredictable.
*An item of BLAZE ORANGE clothing must be worn in the field whenever any dog is running or birds are being planted. Additionally, a blaze orange hat is required (a hat or cap by itself is not sufficient).
*Smoking will not be allowed in the field.
*No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted by the Hunt Test Secretary which specifies any condition as to its acceptance.
*All entry fees must be submitted in U.S. funds.
*Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee.
*The Northern Colorado Springer Spaniel Club and landowners assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to exhibitors, spectators, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children.

From the Hunt Test site, go south on County Road 37 approximately 2 miles to Highway 52. Go east (left) on Highway 52 approximately 16.2 miles. Turn right on Highway 79/CO 79 and travel approx. 22.5 miles. Turn left onto E Colfax Ave/US-36 E/County Hwy- 2 and go approx. 2.1 miles. Turn slight left onto US Highway 36 and travel approx. 3.6 miles. Strasburg Veterinary Clinic is on the left (north) side of the street.

From the Hunt Test site, go north on County Road 37 approximately 3 miles to County Road 22. Take a left (west) on to County Road 22 and go 5 miles to US 85 North. Turn right on to US 85 North. After just over 4 miles, turn left on to CO - 66. Drive 16 miles to Francis Street and then turn left. After 1.5 miles, turn right on to Mountain View Avenue. The hospital is at 1950 Mountain View Avenue.

DRAWINGS/RUNNING ORDER

Drawings will take place at Huntsecretary.com 8:00 AM ET on 5/18/2020. The Running Order will be electronically randomized and adjusted slightly to accommodate handlers running multiple dogs.

 

SCRATCHES
Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com unless Club Scratch Policy below states otherwise.
 
After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.
 
Club Scratch Policy

Entry fees paid for a bitch withdrawn because of coming into season or for a dog withdrawn because of an injury or illness, or for a dog which dies, shall be refunded in full by the test giving club. Prior to paying such refund, the club may require an appropriate veterinary certificate. Requests and documentation must be presented prior to the test. There will be no refunds for “no shows”. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event a dog is disqualified, excused by a judge or barred from the test by action of the Hunt Test Committee. No entry fee will be refunded if the test cannot be started or completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, an act of God, public emergency, or any other cause beyond the control of the Hunt Test Committee.

Please double check that hotels are open. The governor of Colorado has placed a “safer at home” directive.

I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
