WELCOME STATEMENT

The English Springer Spaniel Club of Southern California is pleased to invite you to participate in their annual Spring Field Trial being held on January 25 & 26, 2020 in Porterville, CA. Open to all AKC registered English Springer Spaniels 6 months of age or older. We are delighted to have as our judges for the Open and Amateur Stakes Brent Blundell #37966 from Bountiful UT and Dan Murray #91236 from Bismarck, ND. Puppy judges will be announced at the Trial.

We will be holding two Cocker Open Stakes one Saturday and one Sunday. This will be an alternating series Cocker/Springer trial. Cockers will start on Saturday followed by the Springer first series. We will roll right into the Cocker 2nd series followed by the Springer 2nd series. Puppies will be run during judge's deliberations. Then the 3rd series Cocker followed by the Springer 3rd series. On Sunday will be using the same format with the Springers going first.

PRIZES
Awards will be presented on the grounds following the completion of the Open and Amateur Stakes.

Fetchfeather’s Clark Hughes Memorial Perpetual Trophy is awarded annually to the high point Open All-Age dog in the four Southern California Field Trial Clubs: Southern California, Arrowhead, Antelope Valley and San Fernando Valley. Points will be as follows: Win-5, Second-3, Third-2 and Fourth-l. Trophies will be awarded at the completion of the Southern California Trial each year.

DRAWINGS/RUNNING ORDER

Drawings will take place at Huntsecretary.com 8:00 AM ET on 1/15/2020. The Running Order will be electronically randomized and adjusted slightly to accommodate handlers running multiple dogs.

 

SCRATCHES
Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com unless Club Scratch Policy below states otherwise.
 
After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

Entry fees will be refunded for bitches in season, dog injury, illness, death or at the discretion of the committee.

COVID EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY

Prior to the close, if an AKC/Parent Club event has to cancel due to COVID, only the entry fee will be refunded.

TAILGATE INFORMATION

A tailgate party will be held prior to presenting the awards on Saturday. If you would like to contribute a snack or drink it will be greatly appreciated.

We will be providing dinner for the judges Saturday night on the grounds. If you care to join us please bring your main course and a side dish to share. Grills will be available.

BLAZE ORANGE IS REQUIRED TO BE WORN AND VISIBLE ABOVE THE WAIST BY PARTICIPANTS AND OBSERVERS WHEN IN THE FIELD.



Coming from the South: Take Hwy 65 North to190 East about 11 miles to Strathmore/Ave 176. River Island Country Club will be on your right. Turn left and continue for about 4.5 miles until you reach the Kincade Wildlife Management Area on the left.
Coming from the North: Take Hwy 64 South to Strathmore Road miles from. Turn left following the curve of the road slightly past the power plant. Look for the entrance on your right.

There will be double orange flags or signs at the entrance. Enter and follow dirt road to its end at covered picnic area. (Copy and paste link for google map)

I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
