Welcome Statement

Welcome to the HCCRA Spring 2022 test. The Hoosier Creek Conservation and Retriever Association (HCCRA) was formed in 2017 through a union of two long-standing eastern Iowa conservation groups: Eastern Iowa Hunting Retriever Association (EIHRA) and Hoosier Bay Delta Waterfowl. By blending these two nonprofits, we support Iowa hunters as they develop better retrievers for upland and waterfowl hunting while finding ways to conserve local waterfowl and secure waterfowl hunting in eastern Iowa for current and future generations.

By keeping the organization independent and local, we ensure that 100% of the funds we raise are used for local wetland/habitat improvement projects.

We would like to thank the Iowa DNR for allowing us to use this property. Please be respectful of the property and clean up after yourselves.

Please Note :
HCCRA reserves the right to change or combine stakes or assign additional judges if deemed necessary for a large/small entry.

Handlers MUST check in with the FT Secretary before they run their dogs.

HCCRA policy prohibits consumption of alcoholic beverages until the conclusion of the day’s testing.

Waiver of Liability: Spectators and participants (dogs and handlers) at HCCRA events are there under their own risk. HCCRA, NAHRA, and Iowa DNR are NOT liable in case of accidents or injury. Entry or attendance automatically grants HCCRA, NAHRA, Iowa DNR and any land owners a waiver of liability, whether dog or person

Scratches

Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com.

After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

Club Scratch Policy

After the draw, refunds will be given only for bitches in season, illness, injury or death of the dog. Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Test Secretary and be received within 10 days of the completion of the test accompanied by a veterinary statement and will be handled on a case by case basis by the Field Test Committee. Bitches in season are not permitted on the test grounds. No shows will not be granted a scratch. The scratch fee is $25 after the close of entries.

Lunch will not be provided. There are many eateries in North Liberty a few miles away from the test grounds. Please plan accordingly.

Tailgate Information

On Saturday at the conclusion of the days testing HCCRA will host a banquet; meal, awards ceremony, and raffle at club member Mark Groth's house. 1405 Falcon Ave NW, Swisher, IA 52338

Tickets for the banquet, and directions will be available at the Test Headquarters -$15. Please let us know the number of people attending the banquet so we can plan the meal accordingly. Further information will be available the day of the test.

Directions to Test Headquarters : Get off Exit 4 of I-380, Go west on 250th St NW to first road north(TURN RIGHT) Go north on (gravel) James Ave NW to TEE intersection with Swan Lake RD. The Dog Training Area is just north of the TEE on the gravel road, follow the slight jog to the east, then north on the dirt road. Look for our signs to help guide you.
