Welcome Statement

Dear Field Test Participants, The Midnight Sun Gun Dog Association (MSGDA) will be hosting a licensed NAHRA Hunting Retriever Field Test on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 at Boyd’s Potato Farm. This event will be double events during the weekend with a Started, Hunter, Intermediate, and Senior test on both Saturday and Sunday. Qualifying dogs and their owners will be awarded an official NAHRA rosette and accompanying band. There will be a catered dinner and tailgate auction following the events on Saturday. Saturday is also the Alaska Regional, those dogs considered Alaska Regional Dogs will be awarded Alaska Regional NAHRA Rosettes if they qualify in the stake where they are considered a Regional Qualifier. We are planning on having a catered dinner at this event, you can pay for dinners when you sign up for this event.

Additional Field Test Information

Please note that by entering this event, handlers agree to HOLD HARMLESS the Midnight Sun Gun Dog Association from any liability from possible injuries or illness to themselves, or their dogs sustained during this event.


No drones allowed during MSGDA events, in addition no camera's including go pro's are allowed at the line, on handlers or their dogs. (See NAHRA Photography Policy)

Field Test Clothing: Camouflage or appropriate hunting attire must be worn by all participants. Hunter Orange for Inter/Senior Upland

Food and Water: Tests normally last most of the day. Please bring food and plenty of water for you and your dogs.

Saturday Potluck Barbecue: MSGDA will provide a BBQ dinner at $20 per person to help off set the cost. We are asking all MSGDA club members to bring a side dish (i.e. appetizer, salad, fruit or dessert). This is a family event, so we encourage you to bring your entire family.

Field Test Courtesy: Do not drive on fields. Please 5 mph around the fields to avoid stirring up dust and limit the creation of mud; remember we are given the opportunity to use the property by the land owners and we don’t want to limit our use of their fields in the future! Do not go through any gates unless instructed to do so. Come prepared to “scoop the poop” and pick up any trash. Thank you in advance for your consideration of others.
Scratches
Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com.
 
After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.
 
Club Scratch Policy

Refund Policy: Full refunds will be given prior to the drawing date for ill or injured dogs or dogs in-season when a written request is accompanied by a veterinarian’s certification. All other refunds are made at the discretion of the Field Test Committee.

Camping and lodging is available in Palmer and Wasilla. No camping at Boyd's farm.

Tailgate Information

After dinner MSGDA will host a raffle after Saturdays events. If you have something you would like to donate to the raffle please give it to Bob Maloney, or Kent Bull.

There will be a silent auction going on as well.

DIRECTIONS TO HUNT TEST FROM EAGLE RIVER/ANCHORAGE

Take the Glenn Highway to Palmer. Go through Palmer and turn left on Fishhook Road (this is the road to Hatcher Pass). Go 1.2 miles past Trunk Road and turn left on Cunningham Road. Go 0.5 miles to Boyd’s Farm. Follow signs from there.
